Ms. Mendes's Homework Policy
Dear Parents,
Many students become careless about homework responsibilities as the year progresses. The procedure outlined below has been used to improve completion of assignments. Therefore, this plan will remain in place for the entire school year and begin the first day of each marking period.
The homework procedure is as follows:
When a student has missed 3 homework assignments, (per marking period), a parent will be notified by a letter, which is to be signed and returned.
After 5 missed assignments, the teacher will assign an after school detention for the student. A letter will be sent home to the parent informing them of the date of the detention. A date may be chosen that fits your schedule best.
It will be the responsibility of the parent to pick up the student, after school, in the office at the specified time.
Homework is a necessary tool in the learning process, it is needed to reinforce the concepts learned in school. Please help us stress the importance of homework to your children. I thank you for supporting your child in his/her education.
Sincerely,
Susan J. Mendes
