Classroom Rules

Grade 6 – Slatington Elementary

September 2, 2008

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I am delighted that your child is in my class this year.  We can all look forward to many rewarding experiences as the year progresses.  As I firmly believe that life-long success depends on self-discipline, I have developed some classroom rules to help each student manage his/her own behavior.  The following rules will be in effect for the entire school year.

1.      Respect Others.

·         Their person

·         Their property

·         Their feelings

2.      Prepare and Organize.

·         Your Materials

·         Your work

3.      Speak.

·         After raising your hand

·         Asking appropriate questions

4.      Listen.

·         Closely to all directions

·         Attentively to every speaker

After several violations, an individual student will lose privileges.  If problems are repeated or create severe disruptions, a parent conference may be necessary.  If problems persist, the principal will become involved.

I would appreciate it if you would review the rules with your child.

Thank you.  Together we can make it a Great School Year!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Kelly Kromer
