I have been teaching at Northern Lehigh for many years. Previously, I taught 4th and 5th grade. This will be my fourteenth year in 3rd grade. I love teaching, but I also enjoy learning about computers. I earned my master's degree in classroom technology in December 2001. I was a guest lecturer during the summer of 2001 at PSU - LV Writing Project, where I presented a course on using technology to teach writing. I have been actively involved with the Carbon Lehigh Intermediate Unit #21, undertaking various educational projects. I am also active in my school, where I have been working on a voluntary basis to create and update the Slatington Elementary Web Site. From 2001 - 2003, I held the position of language arts chairperson for the elementary buildings. In this position, I was directly involved in the adoption of our Scott Foresman reading series as well as the guided reading programs used in our primary grades. I worked tirelessly on reformatting our reading planned course instruction for grades 3-6, and was an active participant in the beginning steps of reorganizing our report cards. During the 2007-2008 school year, I was able to participate in the Tech Wizards program through CLIU #21, with Mr. Weaber. This program was designed to teach new technologies to students at the elementary level. During 2008-2009, I became the advisor of our Tech Wizard Jr. group of 5th graders, who also attend the IU for training. I am married and have 2 children. Both of my children attend Northern Lehigh. It is important for me that my children are also a part of the NL community. I am thrilled with the education they receive and would not be happy sending them any where else. They both love going to school here and have built wonderful friendships with their fellow classmates. Once the day is done, and all my work is complete, I return to the most important things in my life...My Family!
