Report Cards

Report cards are issued four times a year.
Students with all A's make the Principal's list. Students with A's and B's make the honor roll.
There are five main subject categories: Reading, English, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
Within each main subject, there are subcategories that the students are graded in.
Reading: comprehension, vocabulary, skill application
English: spelling, grammar, writing
Math: applies math, math concepts, fact fluency, computation, problem solving
Science: applies science, science concepts
Social Studies: applies social studies, social studies concepts
The subcategory grades are the grades that you can see online at Power School Parent. At the end of the marking period, these grades and combined to form the final subject grade.
Click the image to go to the Power School Parent website. You will need your log in and password. This is provided by the school. Once you have entered, you can see your child's grades. It is updated several times a week.
The subcategory grades on the report card show up as G for good, S for satisfactory, and N for needs improvement.
The subcategories are weighted differently depending on their importance and frequency in the classroom. For example, in English spelling is worth 40% of the final grade, grammar is worth 40%, and writing is worth 20%.
Special subjects (gym, art, etc.) only give grades during the second and fourth marking period. These grades are A for advanced, P for proficient, B for basic, and BB for below basic.
Other information on the report card includes conduct, reading fluency, interventions, and absences. If a student receives an 'N' in conduct, they cannot make honor roll or principal's list.
