Objective: The following activities are designed to go along with our District's RTI (Response to Intervention) initiative. In the fourth grade, students that are not pulled out for strategic or intensive services are divided up into "Book Clubs." In our book clubs, teachers spend time reinforcing strategies and skills that are introduced through our Scott Foresman Reading Street basal (Grade Four). During my preparation for book clubs, I found a lack in activities that tie reading strategies to chapter books. As a result, I am going to try to develop worksheet-based activities that provide worthwhile interaction with the text while reinforcing essential Reading strategies.
